CDM Principal Designer
Leeds | Hybrid Working
Up to £56,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
Are you a CDM or Health & Safety professional looking to take the next step in your consultancy career?
We’re supporting a growing, well-established consultancy as they look to appoint an experienced CDM Consultant / Principal Designer to join their team in Leeds. With a diverse pipeline of projects across commercial, education, residential, regeneration, infrastructure, energy, transport, healthcare and masterplanning, this is a great opportunity to take ownership of your work while developing long-term client relationships.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor throughout the design and pre-construction phase, helping duty holders understand and meet their responsibilities under CDM 2015. The role offers real variety and autonomy, backed by a knowledgeable and close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver CDM Advisory and Principal Designer services across a wide range of sectors
*
Advise clients on their legal duties under CDM 2015, ensuring robust risk management throughout the design and planning process
*
Lead design risk reviews and engage project teams in practical, risk-conscious decision making
*
Carry out site inspections and audits, reporting on design and H&S compliance
*
Attend client and design team meetings, contributing to successful project delivery and future business development
About You:
*
Significant experience in a CDM, Principal Designer or construction H&S consultancy role
*
In-depth knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and the design and construction process
*
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
*
APS membership (IMaPS or CMaPS) – or working towards
*
Excellent communicator with a proactive, client-focused approach
