Principal Designer (CDM)

A growing consultancy is looking for a skilled Principal Designer to join their team and play a key role in delivering projects across a range of sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on CDM compliance from concept through to completion, working alongside clients and project teams on diverse and challenging schemes.
The Role
*
Act as Principal Designer on multiple projects, ensuring full CDM compliance
*
Plan, manage, and coordinate the pre-construction phase of projects
*
Carry out site visits and inspections, gathering information for compliance monitoring
*
Provide clear CDM advice during project reviews and coordination workshops
*
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals
*
Keep up to date with industry developments, best practice, and regulatory changes
*
Support the development of technical expertise within the practice
About You
*
Architect, Technologist, or similar background with proven Principal Designer experience
*
APS accreditation desirable
*
Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience
*
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software
*
Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, construction methods, and building systems
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*
Health & Safety focused with a proactive approach to project safety
*
Keen eye for detail and accuracy, with a track record of delivering successful projects
*
CSCS card and Principal Designer (Building Regulations) experience desirable
