Job Title: Chargehand – PSV
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £25.51 per hour / £48,504 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An excellent and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chargehand to join the engineering team at a busy PSV maintenance and repair operation in Liverpool. This is a key leadership role supporting the Engineering Manager in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the workshop.
As a Chargehand, you will supervise technicians and engineers, ensure all work is completed to high standards, and contribute to the smooth running of the fleet maintenance schedule.

Permanent, full-time contract (37 hours per week)

Supervise a team of PSV Engineers and Technicians within the workshop
Allocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure operational efficiency
Carry out hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work
Ensure all vehicles meet legal and safety compliance requirements
Liaise with management to support planning and continuous improvement
Maintain clear and accurate records of all work carried outRequirements:
Experience in a PSV or HGV engineering environment
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Strong technical and diagnostic skills
Previous experience in a supervisory or Chargehand role is preferred
PCV licence is desirable (training will be provided if not held)This role is ideal for a Senior PSV Technician ready to step up or an experienced Chargehand looking for a new challenge in a professional, forward-thinking environment.
