Chartered Building Surveyor - London London | Construction Consultancy | Up to £60,000 DOE If you're a Chartered Building Surveyor looking for greater autonomy, more varied project exposure and the opportunity to work on some interesting residential-led projects, this could be the next step for you. We're working with a highly respected and rapidly expanding construction consultancy that is looking to strengthen its London team with an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor. The role offers the chance to work across a broad portfolio, with a particular focus on residential projects, alongside commercial, heritage and other sectors. You'll be trusted to take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and play a key role across both professional surveying and project-based instructions. This is a great opportunity for a surveyor who wants to take on bigger challenges, work with greater independence and continue developing their technical and project management expertise within a supportive, ambitious consultancy. What you'll be doing as the Chartered Building Surveyor: Delivering a range of professional Building Surveying services, including condition surveys, defect diagnosis, schedules of condition and technical due diligence. Working predominantly across residential projects, with exposure to commercial, heritage and other property sectors. Managing and supporting refurbishment, redevelopment and improvement projects from inception through to completion. Acting as Contract Administrator and/or Project Manager across a range of schemes, working with contracts including JCT and NEC. Providing technical advice on building defects, planned maintenance, refurbishment and lifecycle considerations. Supporting clients with Section 20 consultation processes, planned maintenance programmes and other residential asset management requirements. Preparing reports, specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation. Carrying out site inspections, monitoring works and providing technical recommendations. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact and helping to develop repeat business. Contributing to framework agreements, business development activity and the continued growth of the Building Surveying team.What they're looking for: MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor status is preferred. A BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or another RICS-accredited relevant degree. Solid experience across both professional Building Surveying and project-focused work. Strong knowledge of building pathology, defects, refurbishment and construction processes. Residential sector experience would be highly advantageous. Experience or knowledge of Section 20 notices/consultation processes and residential planned maintenance would be a strong advantage. Good understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts. Confident working independently and managing your own workload, projects and client relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach. Commercially aware, proactive and confident when solving technical and project-related challenges. Experience with BIM and modern surveying technology would be beneficial.What's on offer: Salary up to £60,000, depending on experience. Hybrid and flexible working.
