A client of mine, a growing property finance business specialising in short-term lending to developers, traders, and investors, is looking to speak with a qualified Chartered Surveyor to join their in-house team. With a current loan book exceeding £50m and ambitious plans to reach £100m by the end of 2026, this is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute MRICS professional to join at a pivotal stage in the company's growth.
Offering the successful Chartered Surveyor the chance to play a critical role in property risk assessment and valuation across a varied portfolio of secured residential and commercial projects, as well as the opportunity to help shape risk and valuation policy alongside the leadership team.

The Chartered Surveyor's Role
You will be central to the property due diligence process - delivering in-house valuations, reviewing third-party reports, and assessing project feasibility for loans ranging from refurbishments to ground-up developments. Working alongside underwriting, legal, and operations teams, your expertise will inform lending decisions and help manage property-related risk across the loan lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver internal desktop and site-based valuations in line with RICS standards
Evaluate project feasibility, including cost analysis and GDV forecasts
Review and analyse third-party valuation reports
Provide detailed, structured recommendations on lending risks and opportunities
Support asset management and workout strategies for distressed loans
Stay up to date with market trends and valuation best practices
Ensure compliance with internal policy and Red Book standards
The Successful Chartered Surveyor Will Have
Qualifications:
MRICS Chartered Surveyor
5+ years' experience (minimum 3 years post-qualification)
Experience in valuation for lending, development, or investment
Knowledge and Attributes:
Strong understanding of the residential and commercial property markets
Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Confident conducting both field inspections and desktop assessments
Collaborative, commercially minded, and detail-oriented
Prior experience in bridging or development finance (desirable)
Able to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
