Chartered MRICS Rating Surveyor
📍 London / Hybrid | £70,000 – £90,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits
Are you a Chartered MRICS Rating Surveyor with a solid grasp of business rates and commercial property valuation? This is your opportunity to join one of the UK’s most respected independent property consultancies, working with a prestigious client base that spans institutional investors, developers, retailers, and high-net-worth individuals.
The Opportunity
This consultancy has built a national reputation for expertise in commercial property, particularly across office and retail sectors. As a Rating Surveyor, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, providing expert business rates advice and delivering measurable savings through effective mitigation strategies.
You’ll work alongside senior partners in a flat, collaborative structure where autonomy is encouraged, and results are rewarded.
What You’ll Be Doing
*
Delivering business rates advice across a portfolio of commercial, office, and retail properties
*
Managing and submitting appeals and challenges to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA)
*
Identifying cost-saving opportunities including empty rates relief and temporary occupation strategies
*
Working directly with clients, local authorities, and rating professionals to ensure successful outcomes
*
Staying ahead of legislative and rating changes to provide proactive strategic advice
*
Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
What We’re Looking For
*
MRICS qualified, with at least 2+ years' post-qualification experience
*
Proven experience in business rates and commercial rating advisory, ideally with a retail and office focus
*
Excellent knowledge of UK business rates systems and appeal processes
*
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
*
Commercially minded, with a detail-oriented and analytical approach
