Chartered Surveyor - Commercial & Markets

We’re working with a prominent organisation seeking a Chartered Surveyor to oversee the management and optimisation of a busy commercial market portfolio. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on estates and property management, service charge oversight, lease events, and strategic asset performance.
You’ll play a central role in supporting the delivery of key financial and operational targets, while also deputising for the Markets Manager when required. Ideal for a surveyor with experience in retail, wholesale or markets environments, and a passion for driving efficiency and value.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage lease renewals, rent reviews, arrears, and new lettings for a diverse portfolio
Lead service charge budgeting, recharges, and expenditure monitoring
Liaise directly with agents and tenants to secure favourable commercial terms
Prepare and present clear, accurate reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Support business improvement initiatives and help identify asset enhancement opportunities
Build strong working relationships across internal teams and with external partners
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and risk management processes
Provide out-of-hours standby cover as required
What We’re Looking For:
Chartered Surveyor (MRICS)
Strong experience in commercial property leasing and estates management
Demonstrated skill in budgeting, service charge management and reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication
Sound understanding of the commercial property market
Full UK driving licence
Ability to manage a demanding and varied workload
Desirable:
Experience working in retail or market environments
Familiarity with property management systems
Degree in a relevant property-related field
