Job Description
Chef Manager – Hoddesdon Care Home Hours: 37 per week (including weekends on a rota, with alternate weekends off)
MCG Recruitment are proud to be supporting our client in finding a Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at their welcoming Hoddesdon Care Home, where everything centres around the residents.
As well as providing a comfortable and friendly setting, the kitchen is truly the heart of the home — and we’re looking for someone who can bring warmth, skill, and leadership to the team.
If you’re flexible, reliable, and passionate about preparing healthy, nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs, we’d love to hear from you!
Main Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals for residents.
Cater for special dietary requirements where necessary.
Ensure all Health & Safety and food hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen and dining areas.
Work with the Home Manager to plan balanced, nutritious menus using fresh ingredients.
Manage weekly stock ordering and control.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures within defined timescales.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and well maintained daily.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required. Person Specification
Previous experience working in a catering environment (care sector experience desirable).
Food Hygiene Certificate and/or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
