Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join the team at Napier House, a probation centre located in Luton. This position is a Temporary-to-Permanent role, where the successful candidate will start with an 12-week probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals for residents, adhering to dietary requirements and maintaining high standards of nutrition.
* Kitchen Hygiene: Ensure that the kitchen, equipment, and utensils are clean and compliant with food safety regulations.
* Stock Control: Assist with managing inventory, placing orders, and ensuring that kitchen supplies are adequately stocked.
* Collaboration: Work as part of a team, assisting other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal service.
* Food Presentation: Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements:
* Proven Experience: Previous experience as a Chef in a similar setting (institutional kitchens, large-scale catering, or care facilities).
* Knowledge of Food Safety: Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and practices.
* Dependability: Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
* Enhanced DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check is required and can be arranged by the recruitment agency.
