Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? Are you a newly qualified PGCE Chemistry graduate looking for that first position? Are you an experienced Chemistry Teacher who would like a new role?
A Sixth form College in Peterlee is seeking an outstanding teacher to cover A-Level Chemistry,BTEC Level 3 Applied Science and Access to HE (Chemistry) classes for at least one half-term, with the possibility of extension or a permanent appointment for the right person.
The post is full-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, to start 25th August. Thursday will be an extended session until 20.30pm for their adult Access cohort.
The ideal Chemistry Teacher candidate would have the following requirements:
* PGCE – completed or currently in training (with at least one teaching placement)
* Have taught A level Chemistry or at least proven delivery during PCGCE placement
* Coursework expertise – designing, deliveringand assessing practical/written units at Level 3
* Availability for the full working pattern noted above, for a minimum of one half-term
* (Desirable) A personal A-Level qualification in Chemistry
* Have a passion teaching Chemistry
* Have excellent subject knowledge
* Be able to organise themselves
* Be able to engage with pupils in a proactive way
Short-listed applicants will be invited to a panel interview and asked to complete a brief subject-specific teaching task.

Please note that the rate of pay will be dependent on where you are on the National Teacher Pay scales and the level of experience that you have to date.
