Job Description

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS (TLR available for experienced candidates) An academically prestigious and culturally rich secondary school in Oxford is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join their ambitious Science department from September 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity to work within an environment that promotes scientific curiosity and academic excellence across all year groups. The Role: You will be teaching Chemistry from KS3 through to A-Level, with the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development and the delivery of engaging, practical lessons. The school boasts high student uptake of A-Level Chemistry and consistently excellent exam outcomes. Key Responsibilities: * Deliver rigorous, well-planned Chemistry lessons across all key stages * Prepare students for success in GCSE and A-Level examinations * Engage pupils in hands-on experiments, promoting safety and analytical thinking * Collaborate with other Science staff to deliver interdisciplinary STEM projects * Support extra-curricular opportunities, including science fairs and Olympiads Ideal Candidate: * A degree in Chemistry or related discipline * QTS with experience teaching Chemistry at KS4 and ideally KS5 * Excellent communication and classroom management skills * A passion for innovation in science teaching and learning School Environment: This is a high-performing and well-respected school with strong traditions in the sciences.
