About the Role:
We’re looking for Chemistry specialists who can teach across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and ideally up to A-Level, though we also have roles available that focus on KS3 and KS4 only. You will be responsible for delivering well-structured, engaging lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum, helping students understand core Chemistry concepts and prepare for their exams with confidence.
As a subject expert, you will bring science to life through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on learning—encouraging your pupils to question the world around them, think critically, and develop a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (if applicable)
Adapt teaching styles and materials to suit a range of student abilities
Prepare, mark, and assess coursework and examinations to monitor student progress
Create a positive, respectful classroom environment that promotes achievement and curiosity
Support pupils with special educational needs or English as an additional language
Collaborate with department colleagues to plan lessons and share resources
Uphold school policies and contribute positively to school culture and development
Use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to inspire students and raise attainment
What We're Looking For:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Have a subject specialism in Chemistry
Demonstrate recent experience teaching Chemistry in a UK secondary school (ideally including GCSE or A-Level)
Be confident in classroom and behaviour management, with the ability to create a productive learning atmosphere
Display excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
Have a real passion for education and the ability to build meaningful rapport with students
Possess a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Link3 Recruitment
