Child Protection Service Manager
Are you an experienced leader in children's social care, ready to drive positive change and improve outcomes for children at risk? Torbay Council is seeking a passionate and strategic Child Protection Service Manager to lead our frontline teams and help shape the future of safeguarding in the area.
In this vital leadership role, you will:
Oversee the delivery of high-quality child protection services, ensuring children and families receive timely, effective support.
Lead, manage, and inspire a team of Social Work Managers and frontline practitioners.
Drive performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the service.
Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, including Section 47 enquiries and court proceedings.
Champion a culture of learning, development, and reflective practice.
We are looking for a Child Protection Service Manager which:
Is a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Has strong management experience within child protection or safeguarding services.
Can balance operational oversight with strategic thinking and service development.
Brings a child-focused, strengths-based approach to leadership and decision-making.
Is confident in partnership working, performance management, and staff development.
