Job Description

Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: Upnor, Medway Salary: £44,246 – £50,076 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week (rota basis) Contract: Permanent Medway Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join the team at one of their Ofsted-rated "Good in all areas" children's homes, nestled in an acre of stunning grounds in Upnor. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people. The home provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for up to five children aged 11–17, with a strong emphasis on stability, wellbeing, and individual progress. Ofsted praised the home for its highly skilled and positive team, where “all the children are happy, safe and making progress.” The Role: As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the leadership and daily operations of the home, ensuring a consistently high standard of care and safeguarding for the children.
