Job Description
I am looking for a manager for a children's home in Thatcham. The service provides a happy and safe home for young boys with learning disabilities. The role comes with an excellent salary and bonus, great benefits and the opportunity to wok for an organisation that truly values it's staff.
You will lead an established 5 bed Ofsted-registered children’s supporting boys with learning disabilities. I am seeking someone who currently is a registered Manager or Deputy who has experience of leading a home with confidence and care.
Roles and responsibilities
The Registered Manager will play a vital role in shaping the culture and success of the home.
Responsibilities will include:
* Leading rota management and staff supervision.
* Supporting the development and wellbeing of your team.
* Overseeing care plans and striving for the best possible outcomes for each young person.
* Embedding the9 Quality Standards into everyday practice.
* Applying your knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
* Building strong relationships with external agencies and advocating effectively when needed.
* Celebrating achievements for the children and the team.
* Managing the home’s budget and spending responsibly.
* Handling administrative duties and report writing with confidence.
* Leading safeguarding practices in line with company policies and regulatory expectations.
To be considered for this role you will need:
* At least 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) in a role relevant to residential childcare.
* Proven experience in setting up a new children’s home.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage the home effectively while delivering high-quality care.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards.
