Job Description
Therapeutic Support Practitioner
Children’s Residential Home
Location: Darlington
Salary: £31,600 – £33,253 per year (if part time pro rata)
Full driving licence essential (car provided in work)
Shift work (must be willing to do some over nights usually 10 per month and some weekends)
40 hr working week as well as a Part time role available (24.25 hr shift 10am-10.15am)
We are looking for experienced Residential Care Workers to join a small, nurturing children's home supporting young people aged 8–18 years. This is a long-term, stable home offering 24-hour care to children who benefit from therapeutic, relationship-based support.
Our approach is child-centred, using the principles of PACE to build trust, promote autonomy and help young people heal from trauma. We work therapeutically, with a focus on understanding each child’s neurological and emotional needs.
What we’re looking for:
* Confident supporting young people through daily life and leisure activities
* Sensitive, proactive, and resilient
* Committed to safeguarding and continuous professional development
* NVQ Level 3 (preferred or willing to work towards)
* Full UK driving licence
