Children’s Residential Support Worker
Purpose of Role:
To provide care, guidance, and support for children and young people living in residential settings, ensuring their safety, welfare, and development in line with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day care for children and young people, including emotional and behavioural support.
* Promote independence, life skills, and positive outcomes for each child.
* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
* Support children with education, health, and social activities.
* Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding protocols.
* Record and report daily observations, incidents, and progress.
* Participate in team meetings and training.
* Work within Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.
Training / Qualifications Required:
* Essential:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent (to be completed within 2 years of starting role if not already held).
* Safeguarding Children training.
* First Aid training.
* Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Food Hygiene.
* Desirable:
* Training in de-escalation and behaviour management (e.g., NAPI, PRICE, Team Teach, MAPA).
* Awareness of trauma-informed care and child development
