Position: Senior Residential Support Worker/Team Leader – Learning Disabilities
Salary: £29,120 based on 40hr/week (£14.00/hr)
Hours: 40hrs/week rota based – 10hr shifts
Additional Pay: Night shifts (£65.00) + Overtime + bonus scheme.
Starting Date: ASAP
Location: Oldham – OL4
Job Type: Permanent – full time, part-time positions may be available
Must hold UK driving license
We are looking for two experienced residential support workers to either step up into a senior role or experienced senior support workers to work with our amazing children at our residential children’s home in Oldham.
The home caters for up to four children with SEND including Autism and learning disabilities, who may also present with challenging behaviours. The children’s home is located next to public transport links and has free onsite parking for staff.
The position:
* Provide direct support to children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Engage in meaningful activities with children, promoting their social, emotional, and educational development.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and other professionals involved in the care process.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in behaviour or circumstances to the relevant authorities.
* Drive to various locations as required for home visits or community activities.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
* Some personal care may be required depending on the needs of the individual children.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent desirable.
* Have UK Right to work Status
* Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in residential Childcare is essential, support will be provided.
* Prior experience and understanding of behaviours that challenge is essential.
* You must have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service. If you do not currently have a DBS, then we can help with your application for a new DBS.
* Prior experience working with children with SEN such as Autism and Learning Disabilities as well as challenging behaviours would be desirable.
* You will be subject to all relevant checks to comply with the law and safer recruitment guidelines and provide all relevant documentation.
* Provide a full CV which includes any time out of employment.
* Flexible work hours on a rota basis to suit the needs of the home.
