Job Description

Social Worker - Duty and Assessment Lancashire County Council are seeking experienced Children's Social Workers to join their Duty and Assessment Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact on children and families at the front door of services, working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Key Responsibilities: Undertake Child and Family Assessments to respond to urgent concerns regarding a child's safety and well-being. Carry out Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, ensuring thorough risk assessments and clear decision-making. Develop and implement robust care plans to safeguard children and promote their welfare. Make immediate safety plans where required, ensuring children are protected and linked to longer-term support. Prepare for and participate in formal case reviews, core groups, and strategy discussions. Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding and welfare services. Maintain accurate, timely case records and contribute to performance targets. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England. Recent frontline experience within Duty and Assessment or Child Protection Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, thresholds, and statutory responsibilities.
