About the Role
Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for passionate and committed Social Workers to join its well-established Family Support & Safeguarding Service.This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority that is committed to supporting its workforce while delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families. You'll work within a supportive team environment where professional development, flexible working, and high-quality practice are genuinely valued.As a Social Worker within the service, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children, supporting families through periods of change and challenge, and helping to create lasting positive outcomes.Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload of children and families, delivering timely and effective interventions.
Undertake Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and other statutory duties in line with legislation and safeguarding procedures.
Develop and implement outcome-focused plans that meet the needs of children and their families.
Build positive and purposeful relationships with children, young people, and families through direct work and intervention.
Assess and manage risk, ensuring children are safeguarded and protected from harm.
Initiate and manage Child Protection Plans where required.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, police, and community services.
Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation.
Attend and contribute to Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, Strategy Meetings, and Reviews.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements and local policies.
Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.Skills/Experience
A recognised Social Work qualification.
Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within Children's Services, ideally within Family Support and Safeguarding.
Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
A resilient, proactive, and child-focused approach to practice.
