Children's Support Worker – Residential Children's Home 🌟

We're looking for compassionate, resilient and reliable Support Workers to join our agency team, supporting children and young people in a residential children's home.

About the Role

This role is based within a children's residential home supporting young people who may present with escalated behaviours. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a genuine difference in a young person's life.

You'll help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment while building trusting relationships with the young people you support. Some shifts may involve encouraging them to engage in activities, supporting with education, helping develop independent living skills, preparing meals, attending appointments, or simply being a consistent and positive role model.

There will also be times when young people experience emotional distress or display behaviours that challenge. This may include verbal aggression, property damage, self-harm risks, absconding (missing from home), or physical behaviours that require calm, therapeutic and professional responses. You'll be expected to remain patient, resilient and work as part of the wider team to de-escalate situations whilst always promoting the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.

Although the role can be demanding, it is incredibly rewarding. The smallest achievements can have a lasting impact.

Previous experience within children's residential care, mental health, education or support work is beneficial, but not essential. We welcome people with the right values, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference.
