Are you a compassionate and experienced support worker looking for flexible work with children who have complex needs?
We are seeking experienced Children’s Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people with complex mental health and learning disabilities across the West Midlands. Whether your experience is in the NHS, community settings, or residential services – we want to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing
*
Supporting children and young people (up to 18) with complex needs including autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour, trauma, and learning disabilities.
*
Providing high-quality care in line with individual care plans, promoting safety, dignity, and independence.
*
Working across a variety of settings – community placements, NHS units, residential homes or crisis intervention services.
*
Supporting emotional and behavioural development using trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
*
Collaborating with families, social workers, nurses, and therapists to ensure consistent care.
*
Maintaining accurate records and safeguarding responsibilities
Requirements
✅ Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting children with complex mental health or learning disabilities (within the last 2 years)
✅ Experience in NHS, community, residential or secure environments
✅ Confident in managing behaviours that challenge and working under pressure
✅ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
✅ Up-to-date Mandatory Training (or willing to complete)
✅ Able to work flexibly (including days, short breaks, evenings, weekends, or sleep-ins if needed)
✅ Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
