BRC are working in partnership with a national mental health charity who are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and resilient Children and Young People (CYP) Worker to join their dedicated team in Swansea.
About the Role
As a CYP Worker, you will provide therapeutic support and practical guidance to children and young people experiencing mental health distress within a non-clinical environment. You will work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies to help young people build resilience, improve wellbeing, and access appropriate support services.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering one-to-one emotional support and wellbeing interventions.
Supporting children and young people in crisis using trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
Respond and effectively manager all new and current referrals.
Developing support plans tailored to individual needs.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all service users. About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children and young people in a health, social care, education, or community setting.
Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Understands mental health, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, and child protection principles.
Can work effectively under pressure and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
