Job Description
Children’s Care Broker – Join Our Team! We’re looking for a Children’s Care Broker to join a busy, supportive brokerage team in the Social Care, Health Integration & Wellbeing directorate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people by helping secure the right placements and support at the right time.
What you’ll do
Work closely with social workers, providers, children, and families to understand assessed needs.
Source, negotiate, and secure high-quality placements and care packages – focusing on best value and positive outcomes.
Keep accurate records and ensure placement agreements and finance systems are up to date.
Build strong relationships with providers and internal teams, supporting the development of a responsive, person-centred brokerage service.
Analyse information and challenge where appropriate to ensure children receive the most suitable and cost-effective support.
About you We’re looking for someone who:
Has a good knowledge of children’s social care services and an understanding of commissioning/contracting approaches.
Can analyse information, think creatively, and work calmly under pressure.
Is confident negotiating with providers and having constructive conversations with professionals and families.
Has excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Works well independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and positive approach.
A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) and an understanding of the care market for children are desirable.
Additional information
Full-time, permanent role (37 hours per week, Monday–Friday).
DBS check required.
Flexible working may be available.
