Job Description

We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading provider of children’s residential care to recruit an experienced and passionate Registered Manager for a well-established 4-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home based in Hatfield, Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and committed leader to step into a rewarding role where you can make a genuine and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Role: Children’s Home Manager – Hatfield - Herefordshire Salary: £55,000 (OTE up to £76,500 in your first year) Bonus: £5,000 Welcome Bonus + Annual Performance Bonus (21% of your salary) Commitment Bonus: Additional £5,000 upon 12 months’ completion Annual Leave: 32 days including Bank Holidays Type: Full-time, Permanent The Role: As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, development and management of the home, ensuring it delivers high-quality, child-focused care in line with regulatory standards. Key duties include: Ensuring the home meets and exceeds Ofsted and safeguarding standards Leading and mentoring a team to deliver consistent, therapeutic care Supporting each child’s emotional, behavioural and social development Managing staffing, rota planning, supervision, appraisals, and development Budget management and service planning Acting as the designated safeguarding lead and ensuring safety and complianceWhat We’re Looking For: Minimum of 3 years’ senior-level experience in a children’s residential setting Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children & Young People) – achieved or working towards Strong understanding of legislation including Children’s Home Regulations and the Children Act 1989 Proactive, resilient, and hands-on leadership style Full UK driving licence Willingness to be part of an on-call rotaWhat’s on Offer: Highly competitive salary package £5,000 Welcome Bonus Annual bonus up to 21% of your salary £5,000 bonus after 12 months’ service 32 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) Ongoing professional training and development Fully funded DBS and renewals Staff referral scheme (£500 bonus) Employee wellbeing programme Retail and lifestyle discounts via Blue Light Card and HAPI App Career progression opportunities across a nationwide network of services Veteran-friendly employer with guaranteed interviews for eligible applicantsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking provider that truly invests in its staff and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children in care.
