Job Description

Children’s Support Worker – Permanent (Crisis Care) Location: Gisburn (Clitheroe, BB7 4JJ) & Forest of Pendle (BB9 6NR) – with travel across Lancashire as required Salary: £12.25 per hour + £55.00 per sleep-in (Enhanced rates for Bank Holidays – e.g. Christmas double pay, Boxing Day & New Year’s Eve time and a half) Hours: 2 on / 4 off shift pattern (Example shift: 10am–11pm followed by a sleep-in until 8am, then continuing until 11pm, ending at 10:30am the following morning. All shifts are 2:1 staffing.) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Essential Requirements: * Driving licence (required) * Experience working with young people (preferred, not essential) * Openness to learn and willingness to support young people in crisis care The Role: You will support young people aged 8–17 in short-term crisis placements (up to 28 days), helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment. Duties include: * Building positive, trusting relationships * Supporting with daily routines, activities, and appointments * Managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive outcomes * Contributing to household tasks such as cooking and cleaning * Working as part of a supportive team alongside therapists and psychologists Benefits: * Comprehensive induction and ongoing training * Opportunity to enrol onto Level 4 qualification after 6 months * Staff incentives and bonuses * 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Support from an award-winning learning and development team Compliance: All offers are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
