Children's Residential Support Worker - Caerphilly

Role Overview
Do you want to help children and young people, who have been taken into care, get the best possible start in life? Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children's Residential Support Workers to join children's homes in Caerphilly. This role supports vulnerable young people with day-to-day care, emotional wellbeing, and safe, consistent routines.

This Children's Residential Support Worker role in Caerphilly offers flexible shift patterns, with days, nights, and sleep-in duties available.

  * Pay: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

  * Free online training, plus subsidised practical training, TMVA, PMVA, PBM

  * Ongoing support and guidance from a specialist consultant

Key Duties

  * Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests

  * Promote independence and wellbeing, encouraging positive outcomes

  * Provide emotional and practical support within the home

  * Support participation in weekend activities, trips, and holidays alongside the team

  * Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare

  * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to support safe care

  * Support, oversee and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements

  * A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people

  * Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach

  * At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting

  * Valid UK Driving Licence

  * Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

  * Right to work in the UK
