Job Description

Job Title: Childrens Deputy Care Manager Location: Felix House, Hull. Working Hours: 40 hours over a 5 day period, as agreed with by the manager. Salary: £34,500 Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for a Deputy care Manager in the HU7 area on a permanent basis. In this position, the Deputy Care Manager will need experience working in a senior position and will be reporting to the registered Home Manager. The home cares for 8-18 years olds which prides itself on its homely and safe environment. As the Deputy Care Manager: • Ensure the highest standard of care is always delivered to residents, maximising the individual's potential and promoting recovery and independence. • Work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure that the home is fully compliant and promote a caring and effective workplace. • Responsibility for organising staff rotas as advised by the Registered Manager. • Work within organisational policy and procedure established in the home. • Ensure that all staff are aware of Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Home Regulations (England) 2015, and the Health and Social Care Act (2008). • Ensure both local authority and internal care and placement plans are in place and that staff fully understand their role. • Take the lead in ensuring an open culture is created, one in which our residents can complain and that they are listened to. • Assist the Registered Manager in the administration of financial related issues. • Deputise in the absence of the manager and cover for team leaders where necessary. Main Duties for the Deputy Care Manager: • Assisting the Registered Managers in ensuring excellent standards of person-centred, holistic care are delivered by staff • Encouraging children and young people to participate in; educational sessions, physical activities, group activities and activities of daily living. • Linking between the home and the school education team. • Ensure open and clear communication at all times with family members and carers, providing updates as required • Report any incidents of abuse, mistreatment or non compliance within the home to the Registered Managers and implement any outcomes from investigations • Implement policy on ordering, administration, storage and destruction of medication. • Audit checks on MAR sheets and evidence spot checks • Work with the Registered Managers to produce effective and efficient rota planning • Maintain own care and management skills and undertake additional training as required • Take lead for the day-to-day management of care in accordance with policy and procedure Experience needed for the Deputy Care Manager: • 2 years senior experience within Health and Social Care (Essential). • Sound knowledge of governing legislation, procedures and best practice for social care (Essential). • Experience working with complex residents (essential) • Experience of working with young people with SEMH (desirable) Skills required • Able to manage own time and management tasks effectively to meet goals (Essential). • Creating staff rotas (Essential). • Monitoring staff holidays and sickness (Essential). • Assisting the Registered Managers in HR administration tasks (Essential). Qualifications required • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (Adult) • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Not essential but must be willing to undertake)
