Job Title: Children’s Support Worker – Specialist Residential Home
Location: Wallasey, Merseyside
Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 (plus sleep-in payments and progression opportunities)
Hours: Full-time, Flexible Shifts including Earlys, Lates & Sleep-ins

We are working with an established and trusted care provider who are opening a new, purpose-driven residential home in Wallasey. The home is designed to meet the increasing demand for specialised support services for young people who display challenging behaviours as a result of trauma, neglect, or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll join a small, dedicated team committed to delivering trauma-informed care and person-centred support. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to become a stable, trusted figure in a child’s life, helping them heal, grow, and move forward.
The Young People We Support May Have:

Experienced childhood trauma, neglect or exploitation
*
Struggled with emotional regulation, attachment, or trust
*
Diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, or other mental health conditions
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Providing high-quality day-to-day care in a nurturing environment
*
Building safe and trusting relationships with young people
*
Acting as a positive role model, encouraging independence and self-esteem
*
Supporting emotional regulation and managing challenging behaviours calmly and consistently
*
Taking part in key-working sessions and supporting care plans
*
Supporting the home’s daily routines, including activities, school runs, and meal preparation
Shift Pattern:
You’ll work on a flexible rota that includes early shifts, late shifts, and regular sleep-ins. This allows for consistency and meaningful relationships to develop with the children in your care.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (residential, education, youth work or similar)
*
A genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
*
Strong emotional resilience and excellent communication skills
*
Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-ins
*
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
