CHP Maintenance Engineer
A long-established, engineering-led business operating in the standby power and energy efficiency sector is seeking a CHP Maintenance Engineer to join their technical support team. This is a field-based role ideal for a skilled engineer with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a background in CHP systems.
CHP Maintenance Engineer
Responsibilities:
Travel to customer sites across the UK to perform routine servicing and first-response breakdowns on CHP units ranging from 30kW to 500kW.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work, including occasional overnight stays depending on site location.
Provide detailed site reports, highlighting necessary actions and opportunities for improvement.
Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure clear communication and effective service delivery.
Assist with internal and customer training where required, promoting safe and effective use of CHP equipment.
Maintain high standards of health & safety, including completion of site-specific risk assessments.
Represent the company as a brand ambassador, upholding professionalism and technical expertise.
Collaborate closely with the wider service and technical support teams to solve complex issues.CHP Maintenance Engineer
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CHP service engineer or in a similar role within power generation or building services.
Practical experience with LTHW systems, including pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, and BMS controls.
Solid understanding of LV electrical systems, generation equipment, and control panels.
Familiarity with ComAp, TEM, TPEM, and remote monitoring tools such as Web Supervisor and InteliMonitor.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field using advanced diagnostic tools.
Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home when required.
