Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced civil engineer, ideally with experience of managing an extensive asset register, to join their team as a Civil Asset Manager. You will be working in an autonomous role bridging the gap between project and engineering teams. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of asset lifecycle and be responsible for driving TotEx investment plans (up to 5 years). They have a wide range of civil assets across the business, some over 100yrs old and the ability to prioritise projects and maintenance works is vital. Responsibilities Accountable for ensuring all policies, legal requirements and best practices are developed (in a means that is both practical and deliverable at port level) and fully implemented across the region. Accountable for arranging and managing Civil Asset Inspections ensuring adherence to set compliance regime. Responsible for inspection report evaluation, defects risk assessments and intervention prioritisation. Accountable for arranging and managing Civil Assets Assessments when required. Accountable for the development and implementation of asset risk mitigation plans. Accountable for the creation of technical / performance engineering standards and liaison with procurement. Accountable to lead and champion initiatives and the consistent application the region. Ensure alignment with the centre of excellence and other senior management colleagues across the business. Mentor and coach the region teams in Asset Management practices where appropriate. Skills & Experience Essential: Significant experience in an asset intensive industry with a civil infrastructure specialism Detailed and working knowledge of external legislation and internal policy requirements. Proven track record in strategic planning. Strategic, innovative, highly commercial and analytical. The job holder needs excellent interpersonal, communication and relational abilities - understands the link between engagement and performance. Strong drive for continuous improvement - never satisfied with the status quo Knowledge and experience of ISO 55000. Experience of portfolio asset management. Experience of working with asset management modules in an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ideally SAP). Desirable: Chartered Civil Engineer or similar qualification.
