Job Description
Civil CAD Technician
Location: Leicester (within 1-hour commute)
Salary: Up to £40,000
Our client is seeking a Civil CAD Technician to support the design and delivery of infrastructure projects across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers to produce high-quality drawings and models in line with current design standards and best practice.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings and 3D models for highways, drainage, and earthworks design. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of schemes for both public and private sector clients, supporting engineers throughout all stages of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil engineering projects.
Assist engineers with the design of roads, drainage, and external works layouts.
Maintain project drawing files and ensure consistent documentation standards.
Liaise with engineers and other team members to coordinate design information.
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
Requirements
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience as a CAD Technician within a civil engineering consultancy.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Civil 3D or Site 3D.
Good understanding of civil infrastructure design (highways, drainage, earthworks).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawings efficiently.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
Experience preparing drawings for Section 278, 38, and 104 agreements.
Familiarity with drainage design software such as Flow or MicroDrainage.
Experience working on projects for both public and private sector clients.
