Job Description
To enforce on and off-street parking restrictions in the Borough in accordance with the relevant legislation in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner to reduce congestion and disruption on the highway network
•To provide parking enforcement in accordance with statutory legislation and the Council’s policies to increase compliance with parking restrictions and minimise illegal parking acts through the issue of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).
•To establish and maintain positive communications and relationships with colleagues and users of the service enhancing the Council’s image
•Deliver a high-quality service ensuring that PCNs are issued accurately through clearly defined processes and procedures.
Job Context:
1.Thepostholderreportsto:SeniorCivilEnforcementOfficer
2.Thepostholderhasnosupervisoryorlinemanagementresponsibility.
3.The postholder will be required to work in accordance with the shift pattern as instructed by the Senior Civil Enforcement Officer
4.It would be desirable for the postholdertoholdafullcleandrivinglicense or CBT and willing to ride a pedal cycle
Experience:
5.Goodworkingknowledgeofparkinglegislationandrelevantcodesofpractice with a minimum of 2 years experience.
6.A high standard of people-management skills, including the ability to communicate politely and clearly with members of the public in difficult and challenging situations regarding the issue of PCNs
7.Experience of undertaking civil parking enforcement both on and off-street using processing software for the issuing of PCNs.
8.Knowledge and awareness of health and safety considerations, particularly in relation to risk assessments and safe systems of work whilst working in a lone working environment.
