Job Description
My client, a large, forward-thinking Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Civil Engineer to join their experienced team of design engineers, based in the historical, culturally-diverse city of Leicester.
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrable experience in the Civil Engineering sector, particularly in a consulting role
An appropriate academic qualification in Civil Engineering
Experience of liaising with a range of clients, across the public and private sectors
Knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements and their applications
Good working knowledge of a range of software packages, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and others
It would also benefit applicants for the role of Civil Engineer to possess the following skills:
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent time management
- A willingness to engage with a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience
In the varied role of Civil Engineer, you will join a dedicated team of experts in the field, with a view to developing your career and progress through the ranks. The role will involve a number of exciting responsibilities, including:
Contributing to a range of design projects at all stages of the process, from initial inception through to delivery
Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, drawing upon commercial and technical experience
Assisting with the production of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
Producing conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques), as well as adoptable roads and highways
Submitting a number of calculations, drawings, and reports to senior colleagues for review
Presenting clients with practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
