Job Description
An independent Engineering Consultancy with an expanding presence across the UK is looking to strengthen its team in Bath with the appointment of a Civil Design Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a business that started in Ireland just over a decade ago and has grown steadily to nearly forty people across multiple offices, building its reputation on the quality of its work and long-standing client relationships.
The practice delivers civil and structural engineering input across a broad range of sectors, from large distribution and logistics facilities through to residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use projects. The team is known for its collaborative, client-focused approach and for creating innovative, practical designs that balance efficiency, sustainability and buildability.
You will be involved in the full life of a project, from early feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, tender and construction. The role will see you preparing and reviewing calculations, reports and drawings, producing flood risk and drainage strategies, designing highways and earthworks, liaising with planning authorities and statutory undertakers, and attending meetings and site visits. You will work closely with senior engineers while also having the freedom to contribute ideas and develop your own project leadership skills.
To succeed, you will already have a few years of experience within a consultancy environment, confident with UK design standards and local authority processes, and proficient in AutoCAD with additional knowledge of packages such as MicroDrainage, Site3D or Causeway Flow. A degree in civil engineering or equivalent is expected, and the company will fully support your progress towards chartership
