The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our tendering and pre-construction functions, working across a range of infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analysing tender documents, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting project delivery teams with cost data and advice.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
*
Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
*
Support bid and tender submissions, including risk assessment and value engineering.
*
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team to ensure pricing aligns with project requirements.
*
Participate in handover meetings, providing clarity on cost assumptions and pricing rationale.
*
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, materials, and labour costs.
*
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, and templates.
About You
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience within the civil engineering or construction sector.
*
Proven track record in pricing and tendering for infrastructure, groundworks, or public realm projects.
*
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
*
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
*
Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Candy, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
*
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
