Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure & Drainage | Wigan

Salary up to £55,000 + Benefits 

A well-established and growing civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Wigan is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects while helping to mentor junior staff.

The Role
 As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure and drainage schemes for a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of drainage and infrastructure schemes, including surface water, foul water, and highway layouts
Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and calculations
Manage projects from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
Undertake drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and SuDS design
Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and clients
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
Ensure designs comply with current regulations, design standards, and industry best practiceRequirements

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Significant experience in civil infrastructure and drainage design within a consultancy environment
Strong knowledge of Section 38, Section 104, and SuDS design principles
Proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Working towards or already holding Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (ICE or similar) is desirable
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skillsWhat's on Offer
