Contract Civil Estimator - Water Treatment (Clean & Waste Water)

East Sussex (Hybrid - 2 Days Office / 3 Days Home) 
️Major AMP8 Water Infrastructure Projects / CSCS Card Required

Join a Leading Infrastructure Contractor Delivering AMP8 Projects

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Estimator to join a major UK infrastructure contractor delivering significant clean water and wastewater treatment projects across the South East.

Working within an established pre-construction team, you will play a key role in securing and pricing projects across major AMP8 frameworks, supporting the successful delivery of critical water infrastructure improvements.

This position offers long-term pipeline of secured work and the opportunity to contribute to projects that will improve essential water services for communities across the region.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially robust estimates from receipt of tender documentation through to bid submission and handover to operational teams.

Typical schemes include: 
·Water treatment works upgrades 
·Wastewater treatment works improvements 
·Reinforced concrete process structures 
·Tanks, channels and process assets 
·Site infrastructure and enabling works 
·Drainage, earthworks and groundworks 
·Temporary works and construction logistics

Key Responsibilities

·Lead and manage the estimating process for civil engineering and water treatment projects. 
·Produce detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documentation. 
·Prepare quantity take-offs using recognised methods of measurement including CESMM and MMHW. 
·Price earthworks, reinforced concrete works, drainage, temporary works and associated civil infrastructure. 
·Prepare and manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries. 
·Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations. 
·Develop supply chain pricing strategies alongside bid and framework teams. 
·Produce analytical estimates covering labour, plant, materials and preliminaries. 
·Assess construction methodologies and identify value engineering opportunities. 
·Account for live operational site constraints, environmental controls and phased construction requirements. 
·Support bid reviews, tender settlements and client presentations where required.

About You

·Previous experience as an Estimator within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects. 
·Strong understanding of water or wastewater treatment projects. 
·Experience pricing reinforced concrete structures, tanks, channels, drainage and earthworks. 
·Knowledge of NEC contracts and infrastructure procurement routes. 
·Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. 
·Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills. 
·CSCS Card holder. 
·Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

·Water sector or utility framework experience. 
·Experience pricing treatment works or process infrastructure projects. 
·Knowledge of temporary works and construction sequencing. 
·Experience working within Tier 1 contracting environments.
