Job Description
Apex Resources are seeking a reliable Class 1 container driver for our client based in ML5. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering goods to multiple destinations in a timely and professional manner. You must have a strong commitment to road safety, excellent driving abilities, and the capability to handle varied driving conditions with confidence. A valid commercial driving licence and at least two years of recent driving experience are required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Drive company vehicles in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, following all traffic laws and internal procedures.
* Carry out thorough vehicle checks before and after each journey to ensure roadworthiness.
* Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring all cargo is properly secured - particularly for curtain-sided vehicles.
* Accurately complete delivery documentation, including mileage logs, fuel usage, and delivery times.
* Maintain clear and respectful communication with dispatchers and customers, especially regarding scheduling or unforeseen delays.
* Adhere to all relevant safety guidelines, both on the road and when handling goods at customer locations.
Requirements
* Valid HGV (commercial) driving licence.
* Minimum of 2 years of recent container driving experience.
* Strong understanding of road safety and vehicle operation.
* Good communication and time-management skills.
