Job Description

HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Didcot, OX11
Contract: Temporary Ongoing
Shifts Available:

Wednesday to Saturday, or

Wednesday to Friday & Sunday

Start Times: 2:00pm or 3:00pm

Shift Length: 9 hours (including a 45-minute break)

 Pay:

Peak Period: £20.00 per hour (Days)

Please note: The pay rate is subject to change after the peak period and will decrease from September.

We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for a well-established client based in Didcot, OX11. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular, ongoing work with a consistent shift pattern.

The role involves store deliveries across the South East and Midlands, with all deliveries kept within close travelling distances. Most shifts consist of 1-2 store deliveries, making this an ideal role for drivers who enjoy straightforward, planned routes.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

Store deliveries across the South East and Midlands

Completing 1-2 deliveries per shift, depending on location

Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift

Completing all relevant paperwork accurately

Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time

Following Driver Hours Regulations and company procedures

Assessment Process

Before starting, all successful applicants will complete a two-stage assessment:

Microsoft Teams theory assessment

On-site driving assessment

Requirements 

To be considered:

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence

Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience

Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card

Valid Digital Tachograph Card

No more than 6 penalty points

A reliable, professional and safety-focused approach to work
