Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver with proven skip experience to join our team in Halifax. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering long-term stability for the right candidate.
You’ll operate your own dedicated vehicle and work a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. While standard finish time is 5:00pm, you can often finish by 4:00pm on quieter days.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a Class 1 HGV with skip gear
* Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects
* Deliver and collect skips across the region in a timely and professional manner
* Ensure all loads are secure and comply with transport regulations
* Follow all road safety and legal requirements, including driver hours and breaks
* Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle
* Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers
Requirements
✅ Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
✅ Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
✅ Experience operating skip wagons (RoRo or chain lift)
✅ Strong knowledge of driver hours and working time regulations
✅ Good communication and customer service skills
✅ Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
