Class 1 Driver
Location: Leigh
Shift times: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:00
Pay Rate: £16 per hour, ADR is paid at £17 per hour
We're looking for full-time, Class 1 Drivers to join us at our site in Leigh with an immediate start on a temporary ongoing basis!
Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.
What you'll do on a typical day:
Carry out multi-drop pallet deliveries, typically completing 5 to 15 drops per day.
Deliver to a range of customer sites and branches across the region.
Around 60% of deliveries are FLT (Forklift Truck) offloaded, with the remainder using pump trucks, so there is an element of manual handling involved.
Operate your Class 1 vehicle safely and in line with company and road safety standards.
Use a handheld scanner and complete all necessary delivery paperwork.
Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with VOSA and legal roadworthiness standards.What you need to succeed with our client:
A valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
ADR certification is preferred but not essential - higher rate applies if held.
No more than 6 penalty points on your licence, with no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.
Proven multi-drop delivery experience.
Good knowledge of the UK road network.
A professional, reliable, and can-do attitude.Pay, Benefits and More:
