Day-to-day working with Transport Manager
The drivers must be aware of loads they will be moving. All necessary documentation to be to hand
Vehicle and trailer daily inspections
Maintain and report any issues with their vehicle and trailers to the traffic manager
Drivers need to plan and take the best possible route
Shunting containers to and from docks
Manage own VBS bookings on port VBS system – full training will be provided
Ensure vehicles are in a clean and fit state and loads secure at all times and refuelled at the end of each day, and using in-house Ad Blue tank
To be aware of the procedure should an accident occur, and to follow the procedure – copy of insurance held in the transport office
All drivers to ensure they follow the procedures as set out by VOSA, and work to the rules on drivers’ hours, tachographs and goods vehicles in GB and Europe
Drivers must at all times adhere to the Government Tachograph regulations and work times
