Job Specification – HGV Class 1 Drivers (Refrigerated Trailers)

Location: Preston (based onsite at our client)
Pay Rate: £16.80 – £20.20 per hour
Shifts: Weekday & Weekend shifts available
Hours: Days and Nights available
Contract: Ongoing / Temp-to-Perm

Role Overview

We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to work on refrigerated trailers based at our client’s busy site in Preston. This role offers consistent work, flexible shift patterns, and competitive pay.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Driving Class 1 vehicles with refrigerated trailers

  * 

    Completing store deliveries, trunking, or RDC runs (depending on shift)

  * 

    Ensuring temperature-controlled goods are handled correctly

  * 

    Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects

  * 

    Completing all paperwork and logs accurately

  * 

    Maintaining high standards of safety and compliance at all times

  * 

    Communicating effectively with transport and warehouse teams

Requirements

  * 

    Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence

  * 

    Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card

  * 

    Previous experience with refrigerated trailers (preferred but not essential)

  * 

    A safe, responsible driving approach

  * 

    Strong reliability and good communication skills

  * 

    Flexibility for various shift patterns
