Job Description
Job Summary
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes from Corby to customer sites. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to think fast on your feet whilst you’ll be expected to cover a variation of both palletised and handball deliveries and collections. You will utilize your delivery driver experience to ensure timely and accurate deliveries whilst adhering to all safety regulations. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organisation’s reputation for reliability and professionalism. Essential duties and responsibilities
Include the following:
Undertaking daily pre & post inspections of your vehicle in line with DVSA requirements
Performing basic repairs and maintenance and prompt defect reporting to ensure vehicle roadworthiness is upheld
Safely securing vehicle loads to meet load security requirements
Organising the most efficient routes and utilizing in house software to ensure accurate PODs are obtained for all deliveries & collections
Keeping informed of road closures, accidents and traffic diversions
Liaising with customers and the transport office regarding ETA’s and delivery updates
Supervising and assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries into customer delivery locations
Updating vehicle logbooks, recording deliveries and tracking mileage
Complying with all vehicle compliance and health & safety engagement procedures
Job Details
Monday to Friday with potential overtime at weekends if available
Contracted to 48 average pw in line with WTD regulations
Occasional nights out expected (will be added to night out rota)
Company credit card for night out expenses
Start times 4am-9am
33 days holiday including bank holidays (25 days basic entitlement)

Key Requirements
Minimum two years class 1 or 2 HGV driving experience with less than 6 penalty points
Valid driving license, digicard and CPC card (preferably up to date with training hours during current 5-year cycle)
Physically fit to cover handball deliveries
Excellent knowledge of UK road network
Strong communication skills

Must have valid right to work in UK
Salary
£43000 with x 2 additional handball bonus payments paid in December and JuneBefore You Apply
