Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
*
Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles, including articulated lorries and trailers, up to 44 tonnes.
*
Carry out general haulage work on set night shifts, covering both local and long-distance routes across the UK.
*
Provide professional and courteous service when dealing directly with customers.
*
Assist with the safe unloading of goods and ensure all loads are securely fastened.
*
Accurately complete all delivery paperwork or electronic documentation.
*
Plan and adapt routes when necessary, considering traffic or road conditions.
*
Adhere to Driver Hours, Tachograph, and road safety regulations at all times.
*
Perform efficient driving techniques to save fuel and minimise vehicle wear.
*
Conduct thorough daily vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift, reporting any defects or incidents promptly.
Requirements:
*
A valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence, CPC card, and digital tachograph card.
*
No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/DR convictions).
*
Strong knowledge of driver’s hours, WTD legislation, and tachograph rules.
*
Ability to carry out necessary vehicle checks and report defects accurately.
*
Previous experience in general haulage or distribution is desirable.
*
Physically fit and capable of manual handling when required.
*
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work under pressure.
*
Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
