Job Description

HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking )

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Times: Afternoons
Employment Type: PAYE

We are currently seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our team, specialising in trunking operations. This role involves transporting goods between depots and distribution centres, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance.

This position is ideal for drivers seeking consistent routes, minimal manual handling, and a structured working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  * Carry out Class 1 trunking runs between depots, hubs, and distribution centres.

  * Operate articulated vehicles (C+E) safely and professionally.

  * Complete deliveries and collections on time.

  * Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections (walkaround checks).

  * Safely couple and uncouple trailers when required.

  * Ensure all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.

  * Complete all paperwork and digital tachograph records accurately.

  * Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot teams.

  * Adhere to Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements, and all road traffic laws.

Skills & Requirements

  * Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.

  * Valid Driver CPC qualification.

  * Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

  * Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.

  * Good understanding of UK driver hours and transport compliance regulations.

  * Strong reliability, punctuality, and time-management skills.

  * Ability to work independently and professionally.

Insurance Requirements

  * Minimum 12 months' Class 1 experience.

  * No DR10 or IN10 convictions.

  * Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
