We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Class 2 Delivery Driver to join our well-established and successful client located in Hoddesdon. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection goods to and from customer locations. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our client’s service.
The role is a full-time permanent position offering a salary of £38,610 (£16 per hour). This role is 45 hours per week, typically 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility will be needed to meet customer demands and travel to different locations. Any overtime will be paid at the hourly rate.
Duties include:
Delivery & Collection of Goods:
* Safely transport goods to and from customer locations across the UK.
* Ensure timely delivery and collection, keeping customers informed of arrival times.
* Conduct thorough checks upon delivery and collection, reporting any damages or issues.
* Ensure customers are satisfied with the condition and quality of goods on delivery.
Maintenance & Checks:
* Perform pre-delivery and post-collection checks on goods including damage, equipment and cleanliness.
* Ensure goods are in good working condition before delivery and report any maintenance or safety issues immediately.
Documentation & Reporting:
* Complete and maintain accurate delivery and collection logs, including time of delivery, customer details, and condition reports.
* Obtain customer signatures on relevant documentation (e.g. agreements, inspection reports) at the time of delivery.
* Report any damage or safety concerns to the Manager immediately.
Health & Safety Compliance:
* Adhere to all relevant road safety laws, health and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean driving record and drive in a safe, courteous manner at all times.
Required Skills/ Qualifications:
* Full UK Driving License: Must hold a valid UK driving license with no more than 3 points.
* Experience: Previous experience in a delivery or driver role
* Knowledge: Basic knowledge of vehicle checks and maintenance.
* Customer Service: Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to manage delivery schedules efficiently and work to deadlines.
* Problem Solving: Ability to handle unexpected last-minute issues/changes, such as delays in a professional manner.
* Technology: Must understand use of a smart phone or tablet (training provided) to allow the recording of deliveries and collection information.
* Physical Requirements: Must be able to load and unload (training provided) and carry out basic checks.
* Category C Driving Licence
* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) or a relevant transport qualification.
* Transport link Knowledge of UK: Good geographical knowledge the UK is essential along with knowledge of major routes and trunk roads.
