Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 18 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to all driving regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving.
Responsibilities
Operate a HGV lorry to deliver goods to various locations in a timely manner.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) is essential.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
Good geographic knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
Reasonable level of fitness due to the nature of the role; dealing with heavy goods/manual handling.
