Reporting to: Transport Manager / Operations Supervisor
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and professional Class 2 Removals Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for safely operating large goods vehicles (up to 18 tonnes), assisting with packing and handling of goods, and delivering outstanding customer service during domestic or commercial moves. This is a hands-on role that combines driving with physical removals work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive Class 2 (Category C) removal vehicles across the UK (and occasionally into Europe, if applicable).
* Safely load, transport, and unload household, commercial, or specialist items.
* Ensure all goods are packed, wrapped, and secured appropriately to prevent damage in transit.
* Lead or support a removals crew on-site, offering guidance and ensuring best practices.
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues or defects.
* Maintain legal compliance with all road safety and driving regulations, including drivers’ hours and tachograph rules.
* Liaise with customers professionally on-site, resolving issues and representing the company’s values.
* Complete paperwork, including job sheets, delivery notes, and vehicle logs.
* Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of furniture when required.
Requirements:
* License: Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license.
* CPC: Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
* Experience: Previous experience in removals or logistics, ideally in a similar Class 2 driver role.
* Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach.
* Team player: Capable of working effectively with crew members and supervisors.
* Flexibility: Willing to work varied hours, including early starts, late finishes, weekends, or nights away (with allowances, if applicable).
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with international or long-distance removals.
* Knowledge of wrapping techniques for fragile, valuable, or high-security items.
* Forklift, tail lift, or HIAB certification.
* First Aid or Manual Handling training.
